Why do we fear being judged? How wonderful could our lives be if we followed not the thoughts of others but the feelings and decisions stemming from our hearts. But this is not the case for many of us. We as humans find the need to follow the common trends that society has created which has developed a world of conformity, a world of traveling along the same stream, a world where the majority taps their feet to the same rhythm. The fear of judgment, communal isolation and social rejection are all common themes to why we as people find it difficult to break out and be everything we want to be.
As innocent children we all had dreams that were a thing of endless possibility. The idea of having a future of wonder and amazement was evident in the minds of all of us which contained the main hopes of achieving happiness. We never aloud a thought to cross our minds that would restrict us of reaching our life's desires. As we grew into what is suppose to be more independent individuals of this world we lost the ability to dream big and be our unique self. At what point in our transformation from children to self sufficient adults did we lose the passion to dance to our own rhythm, at what point did we develop the conscious understanding that the goal to our lives is to work, and work, and work so we can achieve debt on a house.
We have been raised to believe that owning a house means that you a succeeding at life. How many people do you know who work themselves into the ground 5, 6 or 7 days a week to still be in debt to the banks. So many people focus on material objects in this world, such as the ideal house or the stylish car, that they lose track of their true achievements in life. How sustainable are these materialist goods to how we feel and how happy we are? At the end of our lives will we look back and be truly for filled with how we lived and what we eventually were able to achieve? Will the house, that we no longer live in due to being put in a nursing home, and the car, that we are unable to drive due to our age, be enough that we eventually will be satisfied with how we went about our journey? Or will we be filled with regret at the dreams we did not reach.
Memories are the very last things that will be truly ours before we die. The theory is that our lives will flash before our eyes before it all ends, what will flash before your eyes?
Don't be satisfied with just getting by in life. Be satisfied with doing what you want to do and being what you want to be. Be satisfied with experiencing unique people, unique adventures, unique cultures.....a unique life. Sometimes not having a plan in life, is the best plan of all. Going with with flow of life's currant can take you to places you never thought you could be both physically and mentally. When your life flashes before your eyes wouldn't it be ideal to remember glorious moments that were truly special to you....love, transcendency, spirituality, joy, happiness, nature at all its awesomeness.
Rarely do we get in touch with nature, but we are beings who are part of nature since the beginning. How often do you go outside and look up at the night sky and embrace entirely its beauty. How often do you breathe in the clean air and cherish the wonderful feeling as it flows ever so gently into your lungs. How often do you look at plants and animals to appreciate their role on mother Earth. Our environment is a thing of mystery, beauty and amazement. Rarely will we ever entrench ourselves entirely in nature due to our dependence or materials. But the feeling of doing so is one that will make you feel unbelievably alive.
Find yourself in life. Never let other people to tell you who you are or what you are going to be.
